The attacker has registered five strikes in ten Spanish league outings so far this term.

Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr has said sorry to the fanbase for his conduct when substituted in the recent fiery match against Barcelona triumph.

He was replaced in the 72nd minute and displayed his disappointment by going straight off the pitch.

He eventually reappeared to the sidelines and, after his side's 2-1 win, sought to engage the opposition's opposing player during contentious after the game scenes.

"Today I want to express regret to all the supporters for my response when I was taken off in the big match," Vinicius posted on his account.

"Just as I have said in person during today's practice, I also want to say sorry once more to my teammates, the organization, and the leadership.

"Occasionally fervor takes over me because I continuously aim to triumph and support my team. My winning mentality comes from the affection I hold for this team and all it symbolizes."

Vinicius joined Real from Flamengo in 2018 for £38.7m and has notched 111 goals in 335 appearances.

But his career in the Madrid is uncertain with rumors in the past few months stating that Los Blancos would think about letting the player move on if they got a appropriate bid.

When he was substituted on Sunday, cameras from broadcaster the platform captured him saying: "It's always me! I'm leaving the team! It's preferable if I go, I'm going."

In his most recent statement on social media, Vinicius stated: "I promise to keep fighting constantly for the welfare of Real Madrid, as I have acted since the initial arrival."
