Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
A plane transporting Pete Hegseth was forced to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the jet's front window, according to an official statement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane landed in accordance with established safety measures and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson said in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a short visit to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.
This occurrence isn't the first occasion that a American defense plane ferrying a senior official has suffered technical problems.
Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was compelled to head back to Washington after encountering a mechanical fault.
