Hulu is Producing a Popular Game TV Series from the Producers of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.
The newest Far Cry title that players dived into was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and was released during October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for embracing chaos and madness with similar excitement, all while weaving captivating, ideologically themed tales. No wonder then that the network’s decision for a Far Cry anthology series brought on board two creators whose creations have embodied all of those things.
About the Series
Based on Ubisoft's popular video game series, the limited anthology series will stream on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' format by introducing a new backdrop and group of personalities in every instalment.
Creative Minds
Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as executive producers on the series through their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
The network enjoyed excellent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is original, gripping, and wildly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our collaborators at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this cherished property.”
Cast and Future Plans
Mac will also appear in the show, but at the time of writing, we are unsure of what character that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago renewed for more episodes, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new overall deal with the producer.
“Having the opportunity with Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably generous, trusting us with one of the most famous video-game universes ever created. And throughout this process, my FX team always encourages me with their constant trust and support.”
“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology-style program. Each game is a interpretation of a idea, the same way each season of Fargo is a version on a theme,” said Hawley. “To produce a epic action show that can change from year to year, while always delving into the nature of society through this multifaceted and turbulent viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to partner with Rob and present our common irreverent, daring approach to the television.”
A schedule for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
